I read the interview with the theology student, but no one asked her about Plenery Indulgence. I was wondering if we could get a little elaboration on the Church half of the Dogmatic loophole. I know that 'Indulgences' were sold in the Middle Ages by the Church to rich people-- basically, if they gave a bunch of money, they were forgiven in advance for certain sins-- usually lustful ones, I get the impression. The church even had the odd nun-borthel in those days-- it's worth looking up. Anyway, I take it this is something of the kind, but I was hoping for some better references.

And did Kevin Smith know that in recent years the Church was thinking about reinstating the idea? I don't know what the decision was, ir if they've even reached one yet....
