I'm not criticizing the movie -- I LOVED THE MOVIE, I just wanted to point a common mistake in ALMOST ALL christian theology. I'm a Christian myself, but in Dogma during the garage scene with Affleck and Damon, Damon says, "You sound like the Morning Star, you sound like Lucifer." Well, it's common theological mistake to assume that Morning Star (Translatable as Day Star or Lucifer) means the nemesis of God. It's not true. In the book of Revelation the word Morning Star/Day Star is used to refer to Jesus. The mistake stems from the Old Testament. One of the prophets ( I can't remember which one, but I THINK it's either Jeremiah or Isaiah) makes a satire on the King of Babylon saying, "You thought you were the Day Star but you were cast down to heaven." John Milton (famous poet) took this as an alegory for Satan. Milton wrote the Lucifer-is-arrogant-and-God-throws-him-down-to-hell story and it was basically accepted into popular belief. There are few instances where a nemesis of God is mentioned -- Especially as Satan. In the book of JOB Satan isn't the nemesis of God so much as handy man for Him. A person who runs errands. If you check out the book "Bible Companion," written by a Catholic Priest and a respected Biblical Scholar, these points are outlined. I just thought I would mention it. Many people make this mistake, and I just wanted to shed some light. Sorry for any grammatical or spelling errors I wrote this hastily. And Kevin if you read this, thanks for making DOGMA, it is one of the more faith affirming movies ever made. Thank you.

Thanks
Scott Runnels

P.S. Any of you who disagree with my statements about the morning star I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Especially if Kevin Smith reads this. Thanks a lot!
