I just had to find a place that I could post my thoughts.
I went to the show this past Friday (11/12), and had the most wonderful time.
The theater was simply PACKED! And, strangely enough, we watched incredulously as some people actually got up and walked out of the movie. I have no idea why!
This had to be the most thought provoking film, with such depth and a level of intelligent comedy (THANK YOU!) that I can't wait to go see it again. I had always intended to see the movie, but was so thrilled at the end of it, I almost wanted to pay again to get into the next showing. (something that almost never happens)
I have studied various religions and faiths, and this movie is not insulting at all to any faith or belief system. It throws such a humanity to the perspective of death, redemption, faith and ethereal understanding while being absolutely hysterical! I cannot explain how wonderful it was to see a movie that takes those kinds of chances and makes those "leaps of faith" that actually question the authority on which these faiths are based.
It is simply marvelous.
I do so hope that Kevin gets nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay and Best Directing. If I were a voting member of the Academy, I would just hand it to him. It's a brilliant film, with excellent vision and comedy that plays off so well..... I will look for Kevin and Co. at the Oscars for sure... it has to happen.
Take care.
Thank you for continuing to entertain.
