: I have read "Bartleby the Scrivener", a very interesting story, but I suppose I fail to see any connection. After all, Bartleby, the Scrivener, was very reserved, stubborn, and enigmatic. On the other hand, Bartleby, the Angel, was more biosterous and powerful. I would liken our angel friend to that of Satan himself in Milton's "Paradise Lost"; which if you have not taken a look at, I suggest it. :-)...But all the same, it is good to see someone is reading the classics...good observations.
*L* I'm an English major. It's my job. But, just for the record, someone else did mention it in a question I missed earlier (dyin'forasmoke or something like that). Oh well. :)
Anyway, the connection was the name and then the whole "I prefer not," idea. Of course, it was Loki who got to say "I prefer not," but...
As for the "Paradise Lost" connections, I thought that was a bit more obvious. I mean, the comparison is made to Lucifer (the Morningstar, I love it!).
