Though it is likely you will not read this posting, I just wanted to thank you Kevin Smith for making "Dogma". As a non-Catholic student at a Catholic university, dogma can become an issue of conflict where people's BELIEFS crowd the way they think; especially opening themselves to new ideas and perspectives on life, faith...well, you get the idea. Your movie, on the other hand successfully shows people of all creeds that we are united by common threads that are all too often ignored. Your film brings hope and challenges the audience to look at themselves a little more closely in what they truly believe. Your work should not be hailed as "offensive", "heresy", or "controversial" by any stretch of the imagination, and shame on those who do so without seeing the film prior to any judgement. Though at this point it may be cliche, "May he without sin cast the first stone." I cannot simply say enough good things about "Dogma", especially because it requires more than one sitting to digest and appreciate everything the film has to offer. As a long-time admirer of your work Kevin, I proudly support you and your work and I grant you nothing but the best...which is inevitable. From one film-maker to another, THANK YOU!!!
Alex
