I don't quite think that they should dissappear from film for all eternity, but as far as Clerks 2 is concerned I think that would be a perfect fairwell scene. Then maybe Kevin can do something outside of the current universe he's created. Something with a little more meat to it. He's got a lot more than dick and fart jokes in him (as seen in Chasing Amy) and I think it would be a shame if he wasted his talents making movies just to milk the cash cow that is Jay and Silent Bob. Even if they are such highly reputable mischeif makers. Besides, I'm sure they'll stick around in comic book and cartoon form.
If Kev went outside his universe it would kill me. Half the fun of his movies is knowing that you're in on jokes that the rest of the audience isn't. I love going through his movies and looking for references to the others, and I think that Jay and Silent Bob are part of that. Even if they only make brief cameos like in Amy, they still have to be there, they have too!
