I saw Dogma twice already this weekend. The first showing was pretty packed and the theater was an arthouse theater in Shirlington, VA near DC. The crowd was made up of alot of older people (I'm a twenty-two year old college student and I had three of my friends in tow. One was a Kevin Smith fan already and the other two are Kevin Smith fans now.) and everyone seemed to enjoy the film. I didn't see anyone walk out.
I also went to see it Saturday night and took my dad. He thouroughly enjoyed the film. The theater wasn't very full, but the audience loved it. Sometimes their laughter drowned out the words which was kinda of a pain cuz my dad's hard of hearing. Also, we're from Pittsburgh and we couldn't pick out any landmarks. We're pretty sure that we recognized the red apartment-like building in the background during the finale, but where DID you guys shoot?
As we were walking out of the theater, I heard a lady talking about a friend of hers that had walked out of the movie, but I agree that God has a sense of humor . . . obviously, some people don't.
The movie is my favorite View Askew Production so far. Well done.
