Kev:
first of all saw the flick twice friday (11:45AM and 11:10 PM) and i took my father saturday nite, and if you couldn't tell by the fact that i sat through over six hours of dogma in a 30 hour span, it was amazing! kudos congrats and THANK YOU!
Well enough with all this back patting.. i digress...
i know you have some knowledge into the realm of live theatre (the vladamir/estragon etc. bit from amy) so i was wondering if you had read
"RED NOSES" and early 1980's play by Peter Barnes.. It stands alongside Dogma very interestingly. They both carry out the faith in a similar way.. thru dick and fart jokes (or the rough equivalent as Red Noses was set at the time of the plague) both dealt with God as having a large sense of humor
"God is a Joker.. Laughing at the trials of us here on earth. God does not want our tears.. our suffering! God wants to hear us laugh!"
Both are epic in text which were shortened for production.
And both bring God as Higher than the church.
Both are incredibly funny.. and incredibly devout.
just an interesting tidbit i thought i'd pas along to you.. if you haven't read it.. check it out... if you have.. sweet.. but wither way it woud be intersting to see your thoughts!
thanks!
late-
paul
