I really really liked it.

Granted, yes, there were a few little tags where I saw where the subplots were in the script... and the print my theatre got was a little fucked-up, I think... but...

I really really liked it.

Frankly, I could see how some jaded fucks could look at it cynically... and see it as too bright-eyed and faithful, a little too simplistic... but those are probably cats who don't see how the freshest eye to see these issues are maybe the eyes of pre-ironic thinking.

Fuck 'em. It was a damn good film, even my prudish ma laughed at Jay's antics and even my somewhat jaded dad cried a little at the mercy of God.

Yeah, so I talked my folks into coming up to my college for the evening to see it with me. I'm a goddamn sap. So sue me.

I cried a little, myself, at the mercy and child-like fascination with life of God. I'm a goddamn sap. So sue me.

It reminded me that Clerks is the reason I'm in film school in the first place... and gave me a reason to keep working on a script that I think's gonna turn out pretty damn good.

Thanks, Kevin. You keep writin em... and etc, etc... I'll start writin em too.

Cheers
Smalls
