Alright, alright, alright.. im under 18, i admit.
I get my ticket (they gave it willingly, possibly to humiliate me later on) to Dogma, and i walk to the theatre it's in.. the usher stands in front of it, just looking at me with a big shit-eatin' grin on his face. I give him my ticket. "Alright, can I see some ID please sir?" he says. "No, sorry i don't drive" (my most common excuse when someone asks for ID, it works i tell ya. "Sorry sir, without photo ID, we can't let you in.". See, it's all part of this new plan that the Famous Players Silver City has invoked upon the Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada public. PHOTO ID IS REQUIRED UPON ADMISSION TO RATED R FILMS. Bull! Here i am, lookin' way younger, and i got in no-questions-asked to Fight Club (a movie that a friend of mine who works there said was sealed up tighter than a dolphin's asshole), but now there's some punk who's most likely younger than ME givin me shit ID. I coulda snuck in... but I wouldn't give them the pleasure of me paying for another flick to get in. The usher politely, and casually tells me to go to customer service to get a refund or a ticket to another show "Have a nice day" he says, like it was all O.K. Well so ends my plight to see Dogma, then the Messenger tomorrow. Y'know, even with adult accompaniement (yes, i would resort to it to see Dogma), this theatre wouldn't let me in, it's just not possible here in this city. Least the definition of Restricted in the US is "No admission to those the age of 17 and under without adult accompaniment". If only i was so lucky. So even if a parent of a person under the age of 18 in this city, granted permission, and condoned this person's viewing of a rated R movie, the Canadian government doesn't give a shit and decides to control viewing no matter what the age.
Fuck this town! im so damned pissed... sorry, needed to vent.
