Ah well, I just returned from a screening of Kevin's Smith's latest creation and.... I LOVED IT!!! Every since I first saw Chasing Amy, Mall Rats and Clerks, I loved Kevin and the gang. But when I first heard about there latest movie, and that it dealt with the catholic church, I was a little bit worried. I refused to read the script and for a time, news articles convinced me to not see the movie. A friend of mine told me he thought I'd hate it, even though it was his favorite of the 4 view askew pictures.
Curiosity got the better of me, and I saw it tonight. I thought it was the funniest movie ever mad, besides 3 other movies, obviously being Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy. Yea Dogma wasn't quite to par with his other movies. It was funny, but it just wasn't... there. I didn't like the lack of references to the other movies which made the others so intresting. The only mentions I caught were just flagerant nods at the end, when for no particular reason, Jay says, "Hey, let's go to the quickstop."
Don't get me wrong it was a good movie, and good exposure to a larger audiance then the other 3. But it wasn't as good. Keep up the good work though, I'm looking foward to the next picture.
