they never went through the doors. so their sins weren't forgiven because of the church. it wasn't so much that they couldn't be forgiven of their sins, but if they returned to heaven because of walking through the doors of the church, then it would be bad. because God had kicked them out, but they would have found a way back in on their own. God still had the power to allow them back into heaven. it's your call as to whether He/She did or not. personally, i see it as they died, the movie ends. i'm not going to try and figure it out because it's not my place to decide what should have happened. but if you feel so inclined that's your choice. just don't lose too much sleep over it. it's unhealthy.
: the point of getting though the doors in the first place was to be forgiven of all there mortal sins, now if they didnt get though and were still forgiven and wwent to heaven than, uh duh thats not cool..Besides it was stated they had to be killed after they went though the doors, right?
