I saw the Dogma commercials during the Simpsons as well and I gotta admit they got me incredibly psyched for the flick. (I couldn't make the Dogma screening on Monday because I got married on Saturday. She's one hell of a woman to make me miss Smith-brand dick jokes and Salma stripping.)
I saw two different commericials but I only caught the tailend of the second one. The first one...jeez...it was the total action movie commerical. Salma running, Matt with the gun, lots of quick cuts. Made it seem so different from Kevin's other movies. I liked it, but I would have thought they would try to sell Dogma as more of a comedy than anything. (Although I did love that Jay and Bob were referred to as "prophets" in the commerical.)
The spot ended with the "Jesus owes me 12 dollars" line, but the picture looked really weird. Extremely bad pan-and-scan, like when Comedy Central is showing a movie with brief nudity and they just crop it out of the frame. Just wondering...for everyone who saw the flick...is there something "objectionable" in that scene (I don't know...Rock's ass, a blunt?) Or was it just a bad crop job.
Oh well, glad to hear so many enjoyed the screening, you magnificent bastards!
