: At first I feared that Peter Mayhew had died, but no... this article really did mean Chewbacca. According to the article, he died attempting to save a planet from destruction. However, that planet collided with its own moon... killing the valiant wookiee.

: This death appears in the latest Star Wars novel, and his death is a plotpoint concieved of by George Lucas himself.

: It is indeed a sad day.

: Unless of course he isn't your favorite character in the trilogy like he was mine. Hell... the only other fictional character death that even remotely upset me was the death of Spock.
