I'm not even sure what ballyhoo means but it seems to fit...I've been away from this board for a couple months because of lack of internet connectivity and because I was frankly a bit tired of the whole mood, everyone bitchin whenever anything was late, asking the same old questions, starting little flame wars....it just made me feel like I should get off my ass and do shit. I'm not blaming anyone, pointing fingers, or bitchin and moaning about anyone or any group in particular, it's just me. Now the last months have been pretty fuckin hectic around the VA offices seeing as Harley was born, Daredevil, J&SB, the stash moving and the Comic Cons and comic related stuff was going on AS WELL as having to find a new home for Dogma, editing it, fine tuning it, coming up with a campaign, cutting a trailer, etc. Face it, most writer-directors don't do all that shit at the same time; they probably put all their attention and energy into one or two projects and not 17. So can you blame the guy if he's worried about finding a distributor for Dogma, trying to get in all the comics stuff he can before deadlines AND learning how to be a father (and the sleepless nights that entails)? Now don't get me wrong, I'm not excusing him; I myself was on the receiving end of Kevin's acid wit for a lazy stupid and incorrect statement I made so I understand how a lot of people feel. I myself felt that while Kevin was completely justified in his anger for my spreading of misinformation, the way he did so was too harsh and frankly ridiculing, not something I had come to expect from a man I had always admired for his ability to be in touch with his fans and his humbleness with strangers. In a nutshell, don't blame Kevin for being overworked, don't post anything inflammatory or that you're not sure or fairly sure is incorrect, and don't be one to fan the flames of controversy once something has broken. Mind you, I'm not ORDERING or TELLING anyone to follow these rules or trying to limit what anyone can say, these are merely suggestions that might or might not work for returning this board to the fun and interesting forum it was for such a long time. And Kevin, if you read this, I hope the months ahead are less stressful for you and that you are able to take one big long break to enjoy your family. And anyone thinking I'm writing this to ingratiate myself with anyone can take their judgemental and uninformed little asses and sit on a long sharp object for all I care. Feedback (and the inescapable flames) is welcome.

Rod
