It's like this: Over the past year, I've really enjoyed visiting this board and reading your updates and your explanations of various points of your movies. As a raving 'Amy' head, I've been pleased when you took the time to answer a few of my posts, although by then the movie had been completed for almost two years and you'd clearly moved on creatively. Now, over the past few weeks, you've posted angrily several times. It's your board, you can do what you want. But I think you should take the lot of us with a large grain of salt. Almost everyone here would kill to have a tenth of your talent. We're just fans and if some of us say stupid things, why bother giving us the time of day?
Sure, you could shut down the Board, restrict postings to questions only, etc etc. But why not just ignore the stupid posts? I mean, you're the better man, clearly. You win by saying nothing.
As for J&SB4, I didn't particularly like it & said so below. It's still good as an explanation of Dogma trivia, but you've done so much better before. And heck, sometimes a work of art isn't received like the creator wanted, why worry about it.
And, whether you wanted this to happen or not, the Board has become View Askew's window on the world. Other web sites come here and quote you. I'm pretty damn sure that people from the Catholic League & other fringe groups check this thing out from time to time. And damnit, I don't want them to see you sweat.
As to why you bother: Because you're a good person trying to live up to ideals you set for yourself years ago. I hope you continue to do so. I like visiting this Board and hope you'll leave it up.
